Field Day - 1955

We had a fantastic group of young radio hams in the Morristown, NJ area.  Although some went to different schools, we had a common meeting by way of the Morris Radio Club.  This club was made up of many of the Bell Telephone Laboratory Engineers, so we were kept up to date on all the latest technology.  Several, including myself, were later hired as Engineers at BTL.

In 1955, we decided to have our own Field Day apart from the Morris Radio Club.  We called ourselves "The Young Squirts". We had a great time and having contacted about 700 other radio stations, our score for the contest was higher than the "Old Timers".
